Leapmotor plans a second Zaragoza model after B10 production starts
The October 19 B05 announcement extends the Spanish manufacturing plan; it does not establish a B05 production-start date.

Key points
- B10 production was officially inaugurated on October 16, 2026.
- The October 19 announcement identifies B05 as the next planned Zaragoza model.
- The B05 statement gives no production-start or customer-delivery date.
Reported details
Leapmotor International announced on October 19 that it plans to manufacture the B05 at Stellantis’ Zaragoza plant in Spain. The development follows the official inauguration of B10 production at the same site on October 16. These are two different milestones: an operating B10 programme and a proposed next model.
The October 19 release describes B05 production as planned. It does not provide a start date, production volume, retail price or customer-delivery timetable for that programme. Its headline should therefore be read alongside the more precise wording in the body, rather than as evidence that B05 assembly has already begun.
The earlier joint release places B10 at an established plant that also produces Opel Corsa, Peugeot 208 and Lancia Ypsilon. Gasgoo’s October 19 report also covers the B10 start. That coverage is consistent with the company account, but is not an independent factory audit or confirmation of future B05 output.
Editorial interpretation
Our interpretation is that the important change is the move from one locally produced model towards a broader manufacturing plan. A second programme could deepen industrial involvement, but announcing it does not establish how quickly capacity, local sourcing or supply reliability will develop. Those outcomes need their own evidence.
For a buyer, a Spanish factory address is only the beginning of the questions. Ask which version a dealer is offering, where that specific vehicle was built, and what local warranty, repair and software support applies. Neither this announcement nor the production location alone settles the vehicle’s final price or delivery time.
A useful follow-up will be an actual B05 production-start announcement, followed separately by market-specific ordering and delivery information. Until then, we retain the distinction between the B10 milestone already marked and the B05 plan. We are not assigning new specifications, tax treatment or ownership guarantees to either model.
What it means
The main source is the October 19 B05 plan; the October 16 B10 release supplies manufacturing background. Gasgoo reports the same B10 event, not an independent test. Photo: official B10 ceremony on October 16; it does not show B05 production.
