EV charging: AC, DC and compatibility
Check the whole charging stop, not just peak power.
Make charging part of the shortlist.
AC: home and destination charging. Intake is limited by the onboard charger, supply and equipment. Confirm phases, voltage and rating; have a qualified installer assess the site.
Decode the specifications.
DC: public fast charging. Confirm the inlet, protocol, voltage and current. Battery temperature and state of charge change charging speed. Peak power is a moment; charging time depends on the whole curve.
Will an imported car work with my chargers?
A matching plug shape or an adapter does not guarantee compatibility. Check GB/T, Type 2, CCS or NACS/J3400 interfaces and demonstrate AC and DC sessions on the local networks you will use.
Range needs context.
Speed, temperature, elevation, passengers and luggage affect actual range. Plan a charging reserve rather than expecting the full laboratory figure.
