Key points

  • Chery presented CheryMind and its Ziwei chip families as the technical base of the Yaoguang 2035 roadmap.
  • The event included a purpose-built, factory-integrated Level 4 Robotaxi and demonstrations of ultra-fast charging and vehicle-to-grid technology.
  • Targets for a 2027 solid-state battery pilot line, 20,000 V2G stations by 2029 and 100,000 Robotaxis by 2030 remain future plans, not completed deployment.

Reported details

Chery presented its Yaoguang 2035 technology roadmap at the 2026 Chery Global Innovation Conference in Wuhu on 20 October. A company-issued release identifies CheryMind, a domain-specific foundation model for physical AI, and the Ziwei chip families as a common technical base for automotive and other applications.

The same release says Chery displayed a purpose-built, factory-integrated Level 4 Robotaxi using its Falcon Pilot system. It also showed Volt-dragon ultra-fast charging and a vehicle-to-grid demonstration station that combines solar generation, storage and megawatt-level charging. These are company demonstrations and specifications, not independent road or charging tests.

Sina Auto and Xcar's event reports add that the Ziwei range covers C-series central computing, S-series silicon-carbide power devices and M-series control chips. They report company claims of 99.6% peak efficiency and a 200°C maximum operating temperature for the S1500, plus a 1.44 MW charging system designed to add 500 kilometres of stated range in five minutes. The test cycle, battery state and production-vehicle availability were not established in the materials reviewed.

The reports also describe a 400 Wh/kg solid-state cell and say Chery expects a pilot line in 2027. Chery's other stated goals include 20,000 V2G-enabled stations worldwide by 2029 and 100,000 Robotaxis in global operation by 2030. These dates and volumes are forward-looking targets rather than completed milestones.

Editorial interpretation

The breadth of the announcement shows Chery trying to connect computing, energy and mobility products through one technology stack. It does not yet show how many of the demonstrated systems will reach a homologated passenger vehicle, in which markets, or at what cost.

The next verifiable steps will be named production vehicles, regulatory approvals, published test conditions and actual station deployment. Until those arrive, the announced performance and rollout figures should be read as Chery's claims and plans rather than independently measured customer outcomes.
