Chery’s V2G rollout: a Wuhu station is open, but owner returns remain conditional
An operating site, future vehicle functionality and projected income are different stages of Chery’s vehicle-to-grid programme.
Media-based report · see original reporting below

Key points
- The Wuhu cooperation site opened on October 16.
- A9 BEV V2G functionality is planned for the first half of 2027.
- Participation, tariffs and fees determine returns; income is not guaranteed.
Reported details
Chery has an operating vehicle-to-grid site, but that does not establish when ordinary owners can participate. In an October 20 report, Cailian Press journalist Liu Yang described the October 16 agreement between Chery Green Energy and State Grid Anhui’s Mingsheng Group and the accompanying Wuhu site opening. V2G permits electricity to flow from the grid into a vehicle and back into the grid; it is more than powering external appliances.
According to that report, Chery vice-president Gu Chunshan outlined plans to introduce V2G functionality on the Fengyun A9 BEV in the first half of 2027 and deploy sites in Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hefei and Wuhu by the end of 2026. A global network of 20,000 sites in 2029 is a target, not an installed network or evidence that existing Chery cars are all eligible.
Income figures require their assumptions. Cailian Press recorded a company estimate exceeding RMB 3,000 for 100 participation days annually. Gasgoo’s October 22 article used a different scenario: 40 kWh discharged daily over 200 days, with service charges among the deductions. These scenarios cannot be merged into one annual return or treated as an owner guarantee.
Both reports also relayed company explanations of discharge strategies and battery durability. We have not obtained independent long-term degradation tests or a complete consumer settlement contract, so those statements do not establish zero battery wear or stable profits.
Editorial interpretation
Editorial analysis: the useful next disclosures are eligible vehicles and software, accessible local sites, settlement tariffs, service charges, minimum retained charge and battery-warranty terms. Only then can owners compare export revenue with replacement electricity costs and vehicle availability. The CC0 photo by Raysonho shows Canadian V2G equipment as a technology reference, not the Wuhu site or Chinese connector specifications.
